Hello!

Welcome to a new space, a home for all things webnovels and webcomics, with just the tiniest splash of turtle-related updates.

WHAT IS A TURTLE AND WHY IS IT ON SUBSTACK?

For the last five years, I've been working as an action-fantasy webnovel author and webcomic scriptwriter. If you know me, chances are you know me as TurtleMe, the creator of the TBATE(The Beginning After the End) epic. This means, among other things, that I read a ridiculous amount of action-fantasy works for inspiration. I have many thoughts on everything I’ve read in the past, errr... well, in my entire life. Substack will where I share these reviews and opinion pieces!

TURTLE TALKS IN A NEWSLETTER.

Subscribe to my brand new, personal newsletter.

I promise I won’t spam you (no, seriously, I don’t think I have the time for that).

TBATE has always been 100% free for my readers who have been with me since my days on RoyalRoad, and this Substack adventure is no exception: “The Beginning After the End” will continue to live on my Patreon, and fans who want updates will find them in my free weekly newsletter, as well as the occasional insight into my personal life. I may or may not throw a photo of Doggo™ in there. Maybe.

So, if you’re a current reader, don’t feel like you’re missing out on anything in the TBATE story or series if you don’t sign up for the reviews. The newsletter will always be free!

TURTLE TALKS BUT WITH MORE WORDS.

Can you believe I still have more words in me even after writing a chapter, a script, and a newsletter a week? I’ve always been a prolific writer, and a prolific reader–-these days that means reading everything that pops up in my recommended lists. A lot of people have been requesting my thoughts on certain titles that I have read: I will be delivering them here.

For the first month or so, these pieces can be accessed without a paywall. I will be delivering new content to a new audience so I want to hear people’s genuine thoughts on what they liked and what they didn’t like. Once the ball gets rolling, I do want to create more meaningful discussions with a community of readers who are genuinely interested in learning more about the space.

I’m approaching this as an intimate conversation among current webnovel and webcomic readers, as well as for those who are curious about webnovels and webcomics: what’s on the page, and what goes on around those pages. In all honesty, I was a little concerned about venturing into a new area of writing; I’m grateful to Substack for providing me with the editors and support team to help me get there, and grateful to all of you for coming along on the ride. I am now a little more confident, and very much excited.

If you're like me and always craving more words, I would love to talk with you some more. Thank you for the support (whether here, on my Patreon, or both).  And welcome to a community we can build together. ^^
